Jacaranda Park is LA City-owned (DWP). Prior to development, the site was a publicly-accessible vacant lot. The Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust received funding from the California State Parks Proposition 84 Urban Parks grant program to support the community engagement, design, and construction of the 5.5-acre park.

The LA City Department of Recreation and Parks currently operates and maintains the site which includes exercise paths, multiple playgrounds, two half basketball courts as well as shaded picnic and family gathering spaces.
